How it runs: Meetup & networking

At networking events, connecting rarely fails for lack of will — it fails at the first sentence. A quest supplies it: anyone completing a task may approach any person, and the conversation has a topic straight away. That lowers the barrier especially for newcomers and anyone who came alone.

  1. Mention it in the event description

One line on Luma or Meetup.com — "We're playing networking bingo" — makes the event more tangible and gives hesitant people one more reason to come.

  2. Hand out at check-in

Card and pen come with the name badge. The bingo runs alongside talks and breaks; nobody has to play.

  3. Reshuffle next time

Duplicate the project, swap a few quests, export new variants. The format stays fresh even at the tenth meetup.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work with events I organize on Luma?

Yes. It's an on-site activity and independent of where you create the event. Mention it in the event description and hand out the cards at check-in. There is no direct Luma integration.

Does Social Bingo suit a talk-based meetup?

Yes. Lay cards out at the entrance or use the break — quests can run quietly on the side.

Isn't this too silly for a business audience?

You decide that with the quests. For business crowds, pick work-related tasks like "Find a person who has founded a company". You control every text in the editor.
